WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a form of alternative medicine and a Japanese technique developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which means "life force energy".

Reiki promotes healing by gently placing the hands over specific areas of the body, where appropriate and with the client's consent. The practitioner  channels universal energy  through their hands, supporting the client's natural healing process wherever it is most needed. During a session, the client lies down fully clothed in a relaxed and peaceful environment.

Reiki is a safe, non-invasive, and spiritually guided healing method. It can be used alongside other medical or therapeutic treatments to reduce side effects and encourage recovery.

Reiki helps to release emotional blockages that often manifest as physical tension in the body. It has been used to support people dealing with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and even cancer. Some evidence suggests that Reiki may help to lower blood pressure, heart rate and strengthen the immune system.
